The hotel has a very limited number of rooms, insularity does not allow us to rent the rooms on the simple passage quickly in case of cancellation. A Chausey stays must be plan ahead !
For payment of your booking online, you can pay by credit card.
At the hotel, we accept major credit cards (Visa , Eurocard , Mastercard) and settlement in cash. Beware, there is no cashpoint/ATM on the island.
You can opt for full board once there arriving at the hotel. Please note that half board is mandatory in the evening there is no other possibility of restoration on the island.
Half board is based on the « Trois îlets » menu (starter, main course, dessert chosen on the slate ), you can still opt for the higher menu with extra :

Located in our grand main room with its warm, welcoming atmosphere, settle yourself comfortably at one of our large oak communal tables overlooking the surrounding isles, or in our garden perched above the sea edge. Reading your newspaper over a relaxed breakfast, choosing from our large menu of choice teas, or that of our select beers on tap, Normand cider, a selection of aperitifs and high quality Whiskys and Rums. Also available is a variety of fruit juices, sodas and ice-creams, all of which can be enjoyed in the main room or ordered from our garden seating area facing the sea.
At the beginning of 20th century, Lucien Ernouf, Master Mariner has already completed seven round the world on prestigious three or four-masted who liaised between France, New Caledonia and Chile, through the Cape Horn : prodigious time or the commanders of these sails cathedrals were often less than twenty five years!
Lucien was one of those adventurous men after stopping navigate, was launched in several cases before the operation of a shipping line between Chausey and the mainland.
Its ships, the Dream and the Seagull and the Albatros, now embark a population of vacationers beginning to show interest in these islands until frequented by quarrymen who extracted the granite.
In 1928, Lucien Ernouf buys his hotel Madame Moulin. To do this, he partnered with Louis Renault, the car manufacturer, recently arrived on the island, with whom he became friends.
It was at this time that the establishment definitely takes the name of « Hotel du Fort et des îles ». In the following years, several managers succeed in control of the hotel: Jules Quinette until 1932, then Mr. Rosas until the declaration of war and finally Mrs. Blondeau in 1946 whose memory is still alive among some Chausey residents.
In 1971, management was taken over by the family.
Now, after 130 years of business, the Hotel of Chausey is still run by descendants of Lucien Ernouf.
The successful business and gradually begin serving food to tourists.

Family-owned and run since 1928, this atypical establishment makes up part of the unique setting that is the Chausey archipelago. With its varnished wood interiors, our hotel offers you the feeling of drifting towards the horizon aboard a grand old schooner.
Its 8 hotel rooms—4 of which have sea views—make you feel as if you were inside a ship’s cabin. With varnished or painted wood paneling, the decor is simple, warm and welcoming. All rooms come with full bathrooms including shower and WC.
We would kindly ask that you become a participant in island life; notably be aware of your water consumption as it is a precious commodity…we have it delivered from the continent by boat. No televisions, no mini bars, no safes…the luxury we offer is that of an escape to another time, living within the rythm of the tides. Being an islander!
